Compassionate Care from People Who Truly Care
Our Story
Sunset Crest was founded on a simple belief: seniors deserve better than institutional care. They deserve a real home, personal attention, and the dignity that comes from being treated as an individual, not a room number.
After years of working in large facilities and seeing the limitations of institutional care, founded Sunset Crest to provide the kind of care we'd want for our own family members—personalized, compassionate, and genuinely home-like.
Our Mission
To provide high-quality residential and respite care that honors the dignity, independence, and individuality of each person we serve, all within a warm, home-like environment where residents and families feel valued and supported.
Our Values
Compassion
We treat every resident with kindness, empathy, and genuine care. This isn't just a job—it's our calling.
Dignity
Every person deserves respect, choices, and freedom to be themselves. We honor everyone's preferences, routines, and wishes.
Quality
We strive for excellence in everything we do, from personal care to meals to activities. Quality care is our standard, not our exception.
Integrity
We operate with honesty, transparency, and accountability. We do what we say we'll do and always act in residents' best interests.
Family
We view residents as family and welcome biological families as partners in care. Together, we create a supportive, loving environment.
Meet Nicole Owner/Administrator
Hello, I'm Nicole, and I'm passionate about supporting families who care for aging loved ones.
I started Sunset Crest Senior Home because I understand firsthand how exhausting and isolating caregiving can be. I currently care for my own mother in our home, and I know that taking a break isn't selfish—it's necessary. I also know how hard it is to trust someone else with your loved one's care.
That's why I'm committed to providing respite care that gives families true peace of mind. Care is provided in our family home, creating a genuine, warm environment rather than an institutional setting. My mother also lives here, and many clients enjoy having another senior to chat with, play games with, or simply share companionship. Of course, we respect everyone's preferences—some prefer quiet time, and that's perfectly fine too.
When seniors are in my care, they're treated with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion. I focus on creating a comfortable environment where they feel welcomed and valued, not just supervised.
I have completed background checks and respite care training. CPR certified, CNA experience, and 20 years of senior care experience.
When I'm not providing care, I enjoy time with my family, gardening, traveling, and volunteering at church. I look forward to supporting your family and giving you the break you deserve.
Our Care Philosophy
We believe:
Small is better
Limited capacity means we truly know each person
Home matters
Real homes feel different than institutions
Flexibility is key
Routines should fit the person, not the facility
Dignity is non-negotiable
Every person deserves respect and choices
Family is essential
Family involvement improves quality of life
Quality over quantity
We'd rather care for fewer people exceptionally than many people adequately
What Makes Us Different
Not a Franchise
We're locally owned and operated. Nicole is involved daily in operations and care.
Not a Corporation
We're not beholden to corporate profit margins or investors. Our priority is care quality, not shareholder returns.
Not a Large Facility
With only 3 residents in our residential home, we provide attention large facilities simply cannot match.
Actually Personal
We know every resident's favorite foods, morning routines, life stories, and what makes them smile. That's what "personalized care" really means.
